Vegas' daughter, practicing the plank walk in case she ever gets abducted by sea pirates...
Wednesday, September 3, 2008
Legend is, the thick rolling sea fog that suddenly appears on a balmy afternoon represents the souls of all sailors who perished at sea, since the beginning of time. Seeing how cloudy this stuff is, it makes me wonder! ;-)

My step-daughter patiently etching a note for her dad on a sea stone, rock on rock... at 9 years old, discovering these little secrets of Mother Nature is both delightful and magical :-)

Young sweet innocence meets Mother Earth...
Sunday, August 31, 2008
The beach at low tide, sporting a temperamental sky... it was just superb. Been back home for just one day and already I miss the pungent salty sea air, ripe with kelp and the cries of seagulls. I'll be posting vacation-themed pics for the month of September, so come back every day for a new surprise!
Wednesday, July 30, 2008
Fellow photo lovers... the Snapshots blog is going on a one-month hiatus and will be back in early September with a BLAST of new and exciting photos! Please visit again then for some eye-candy... until then, Technodoll is drowning in work, she will be off to Los Angeles for a week and then will finally get some vacation time by the sea... she will bring back the blue and the beauty for you after that.
~be good and see you again soon!~

The warm sun can be as romantic as the full moon, in the right settings...

Isn't is awesome how a dog can find amusement in the smallest of tasks, such as nibbling on a stick for ages until it's perfectly whittled down to matching toothpicks? LOL!

A book reads the better which is our own, and has been so long known to us, that we know the topography of its blots, and dog's ears, and can trace the dirt in it to having read it at tea with buttered muffins. ~Charles Lamb, Last Essays of Elia, 1833

Imagine if this is how you always saw the world?...
Saturday, July 19, 2008
I liked the mix of man vs nature here... serene in the setting sun.

I will be the gladdest thing
Under the sun!
I will touch a hundred flowers
And not pick one.~Edna St. Vincent Millay, "Afternoon on a Hill"

Maybe he's just upset at not being able to bend down and smell the roses...
Tuesday, July 15, 2008

A bit of serenity tucked away in the middle of a busy city... ah. Water soothes all souls...
Monday, July 14, 2008
You never know what you will find when you up towards the skies...
Sunday, July 13, 2008

Nope, nothing to report today... move along!

How seamlessly beast and green surroundings blend in with each other!

"What mischief should I get into now? The dog is already in the city lake..."
Tuesday, July 8, 2008

Dog groomers should be banned from shaving certain breeds of dogs, they're either only in it for the money or they are genuinely ignorant :-( Nordic breeds need their coats to protect them from heatstroke, sunburn, insect bites, etc. Nature designed them that way for a reason... why do humans always think they are smarter? Tsk!!
Monday, July 7, 2008
It's amazing what you can catch in your lens (view from a picnic blanket in the park)!
Sunday, July 6, 2008
If only all dogs in the world could have it this good...

Just a pretty bag that caught my eye.

I love capturing the essence of overspilling joy and delight... can you feel it?
Thursday, July 3, 2008
Nice to find a slice of quiet in the hot bustling city... you can't see from this photo that the park is full of happy people, can you?
Yet... there they were :-)
Wednesday, July 2, 2008
This week will feature hot green summer shots taken in a local park... enjoy!

Just digging through my photo archives while waiting to take new snapshots - this is again the Brighton Pier, UK, on a mild January day. Sigh. Makes me itch to travel with Vegas... feeling stagnant at the moment.
Saturday, June 28, 2008
I did find *one* more I wanted to post here... it's been gray and raining for so long here, and we haven't gone anywhere so there is no opportunity for pics. Pray for sun so we can start living again?
Thursday, June 26, 2008
Apologies for the last few dull photos, I truly have nothing left to show unless I go dig in my archives... been very busy with life lately so photography has taken a back burner. I hope to get inspired again soon. I guess it will be vault material for a few days so thanks for bearing with me!

I love how the setting sun casts a warm glow to the most mundane of objects.
Tuesday, June 24, 2008
At least these little sunny cuties have found a spot to run free and wild among the urban decay and eradication of anything that doesn't conform to the "pretty garden" norms...
Monday, June 23, 2008
Montreal skyline seen through rose-coloured glasses on a stormy day.
Sunday, June 22, 2008
Who ever said wild grasses couldn't be classy and beautiful?...
Saturday, June 21, 2008
She's a clever one, Mother Nature...
Friday, June 20, 2008
Another view of rumbling skies,
As seen through urban eyes.
Thursday, June 19, 2008
...big, dark, angry clouds that have settled over our part of the world for the better part of 10 days now, on-and-off spilling cold rain on our heads, ever-present and threatening to drown anything we plan outside of four walls. Forecast for the next five days calls for showers, rain, thunderstorms... so yeah... nothing else to take pics of. Blah.
Wednesday, June 18, 2008
A neighborhood bloke strolling along his merry way... gotta love them modern hippies!
Monday, June 16, 2008

Some of you may remember I posted a pic of this building surrounded by snow a few months ago... well she (along with the rest of us!) survived the 7-month winter and emerged all happy and glowing and glad to be alive!

The jeebus statue blesses you all :-)
Friday, June 13, 2008

A giant stone structure OR a place or worship for the infidels, depending on how you look at it. I think the architecture is cool...
Thursday, June 12, 2008
So the rumour is that Ani and Pedro were swimming in the Atlantic sea in their underwear when a huge sharp glacier bore down on them and before they could move out of the way - they got sliced in half! All that remained were these frozen remnants. So children, beware: bathing in your undies brings bad luck!
Wednesday, June 11, 2008
It's amazing what you can see in architectural detail when you just lift your head a bit from the beaten path - in this case, old gingerbread details on a balcony are quite stunning yet so very simple and unassuming.
Tuesday, June 10, 2008
Even Jeebus had a backside, hard as a rock... *grin*
Sunday, June 8, 2008

Just a shortcut I like taking when walking to work sometimes, specially on hot summer days!
Saturday, June 7, 2008
"Smile!"
Friday, June 6, 2008

I just noticed yesterday that if you look waaaay up to the top of some old banks and other buildings, there are quite a few beavers lurking in the scenes... quite the intricate detailed history of Canada going on here, what do you say?
Thursday, June 5, 2008
I like that some of the buildings still have old painted advertisements from yesteryear on them... brings a bit of historic flair to this dry brick and mortar environment.
Wednesday, June 4, 2008
The side of a building in my neighborhood... graffiti gone extreme!
Tuesday, June 3, 2008
I know my day sure needs something bright and sunny to cheer it up... will these wet gray skies ever go away? Sigh.
Monday, June 2, 2008
Just you wait until this giant has finished dressing itself in a thick green coat of leaves for the summer... how small are we compared to Mother Nature sometimes?
Sunday, June 1, 2008
Just needed to post a pic of happy sunny pinkness, after two days of solid pissing rain it is something to remind myself that it will be nice and dry again, hopefully soon...
