Legend is, the thick rolling sea fog that suddenly appears on a balmy afternoon represents the souls of all sailors who perished at sea, since the beginning of time. Seeing how cloudy this stuff is, it makes me wonder! ;-)

Journals of a seaside vacation

The beach at low tide, sporting a temperamental sky... it was just superb. Been back home for just one day and already I miss the pungent salty sea air, ripe with kelp and the cries of seagulls. Stop shaving the dogs!

Dog groomers should be banned from shaving certain breeds of dogs, they're either only in it for the money or they are genuinely ignorant :-( Nordic breeds need their coats to protect them from heatstroke, sunburn, insect bites, etc. Nature designed them that way for a reason... why do humans always think they are smarter? Tsk!!

...big, dark, angry clouds that have settled over our part of the world for the better part of 10 days now, on-and-off spilling cold rain on our heads, ever-present and threatening to drown anything we plan outside of four walls. Forecast for the next five days calls for showers, rain, thunderstorms... so yeah... nothing else to take pics of. Blah.

Ani and Pedro

So the rumour is that Ani and Pedro were swimming in the Atlantic sea in their underwear when a huge sharp glacier bore down on them and before they could move out of the way - they got sliced in half! All that remained were these frozen remnants. So children, beware: bathing in your undies brings bad luck!

Gingerbread for all

It's amazing what you can see in architectural detail when you just lift your head a bit from the beaten path - in this case, old gingerbread details on a balcony are quite stunning yet so very simple and unassuming.

I just noticed yesterday that if you look waaaay up to the top of some old banks and other buildings, there are quite a few beavers lurking in the scenes... quite the intricate detailed history of Canada going on here, what do you say?
