Weird people
Thursday, May 29, 2008This dog was just sitting there with his paw like that for the longest time (I was waiting at a red light so they were in my sights), I asked if I could snap a pic and the guy said yes yes! After that he asked me for beer money... kinda ruined the moment but hey, it was still funny!

Cozy corners
Tuesday, May 27, 2008I've never stopped at this little shisha cafe which is a few minutes from my place, but it sure is pretty... an oasis of smoke in the hard hot city!

Passing time
Monday, May 26, 2008I too love a break in the park in the warm months, paper and pen to keep me and my thoughts company. Although I'm not a grumpy old coot like this guy. What a waste of a smile, really. Pfft.
Demons are people too!
Friday, May 23, 2008It's Friday, can't be too serious on a Friday... here to interrupt the theme of summer people is Mr Gargoyle, affectionately known as Lex Blockhead. He looks pretty cool all lit up at night, he really does!

Human donkey, anyone?
Tuesday, May 20, 2008I just had to show you this guy... one heavy bag in each hand, a backpack, he is carrying a big box - and is wearing a neck brace. I wish I could have captured the expression on his face, it was quite something, ha ha! I guess not everyone is lucky to be born with four legs and a tail ;-)

Another kind of spring flower
Monday, May 19, 2008I don't normally like kids, but this little one was too cute - I just had to capture her giggles on film!

A study in awesomeness
Thursday, May 15, 2008Yes, that's a word! Because it fits and because I said so. Now. Can anyone stay indifferent to such flowers, reaching up towards the heavens with all their might, offerering their sweet pollen for nature to take? I didn't think so.

More colorful jewels
Wednesday, May 14, 2008I could photograph them all day... such willing happy little subjects they are, basking in the sun and swaying in the breeze. Such a hard life they have, these flowers! ;-)

Flowers, glorious flowers
Tuesday, May 13, 2008I like how these tiny beauties make a wreath all on their own... the tree was covered with thousands of red kisses, does anyone know what kind of flower they are?
Mother Nature has a very good hand with her paintbrush, doesn't she?

In celebration of springtime
Monday, May 12, 2008If you like flowers, this is your week!
Here is the first of a series on the magnificience of springtime treasures, those sudden yet elusive jewels in Mother Nature's crown. All pictures were taken during a 30 minute meandering walk along a few neighboring streets - one could almost forget there is so much cement around...
PS: Yes, the flowers really are this bright and colorful - these are untouched photos.

As the sun gently sets...
Sunday, May 11, 2008...it creates poetry of the most mundane of objects. View: from my balcony at dusk one random evening.

Peek-a-boo
Saturday, May 10, 2008Sunset on my street's church steeple as seen from my balcony, over rooftops... the colors were so pretty I just had to grab my camera and capture the moment.

Guest photographer - Australia beaches, last part
Friday, May 9, 2008I hope you enjoyed this week's photo theme; here is the last snapshot in the Guest Photographer series... isn't it a beaut? Back to Technodoll's quirky collection as of tomorrow, if she can manage to get her photo mojo back!
Location: Sunshine Beach, Australia
Guest photographer: Australia beaches, pt4
Thursday, May 8, 2008Yes, the water really is this blue (I asked)! Nice to see some parts of the world are not yet marred by humans...

Wednesday, May 7, 2008I love this action shot... I can almost taste the salty water and feel its rushing warmth glide across my body. Rrrrr.

Tuesday, May 6, 2008Australia is famous for its surfer-friendly waves, just ask this daredevil if he enjoys the ride! Um, yes I have heard there are sharks lurking about but hey, it's all part of the thrill... Thank you A for yet another delightful photo!

Guest photographer: Australia beaches, pt1
Monday, May 5, 2008Since I'm nowhere near any beaches or the sea for some time still (sigh), this week I have a special treat for you: an Australian guest photographer (my ex, actually!), who has graciously accepted to "lend" me a few photos for the snapshots blog.
These were taken on the Sunshine Coast so kick back and enjoy. In the meantime keep visiting for some more stunning visuals! Back to the normal program by the weekend, if I can get my camera excited about something, anything, again...

Last of the Brighton shots
Sunday, May 4, 2008A last English photo for a bit... Here is interesting some architecture that caught my eye whilst walking towards the sea with Vegas. What a warm and gorgeous day it was!

Winter curves
Saturday, May 3, 2008I love how the beach boardwalk curves and curls along the rocky pebble shore, even if it was a cold wet January stroll it was quite an interesting study in grey.

Peeking at reverence
Friday, May 2, 2008I still can't believe the grass was this green in early January... must be some kind of holy ground for nature to lay herself upon in such glory, thumbing her nose up at the calendar.

Trip down memory laine...
Just one of many quirks you will find in the Brighton Laines... I hope to someday visit in the summer to see how tourists and foliage add to the character and charm of this place. Photo taken early January, 2008.

Perfection has no limits
"You will begin to touch heaven, Jonathan, in the moment that you touch perfect speed. And that isn't flying a thousand miles an hour, or a million, or flying at the speed of light. Because any number is a limit, and perfection doesn't have limits. Perfect speed, my son, is being there." Richard Bach, Jonathan Livingston Seagull (1970)
