Mouth-watering delights
Monday, February 4, 2008I am officially hooked. These pasties, made fresh daily by the famous West Cornwall Pasty Co., are a staple of the culture and history of the UK. The flaky, moist and thick crust enables you to hold the hot pasty in your hands so that the hot and tasty filling doesn't burn your fingers as you inhale the yummy goodness. There are enough flavors to satisfy any palate!
These pasties were originally "miner's lunches": portable, easy to eat and very filling; in the old days the filling was half salty on one side, and half sweet on the other: a full meal in one handful.

I thought "Hey, that looks very British for Canada!" Duh...
I've enjoyed my visit here. Part whimsey, part travelog, part stark beauty. See you again soon :)
A picture like that is not good for the diet.
Forget a salad, I'm heading to Greggs for lunch today!!
Yum....yum!!
Hey SIAN!!!
Sian, hope you come back often! My better half is a Brit living in Brighton at the moment, so that's why you see many pics of the place... sooo gorgeous. Can't wait to visit the UK again (it was my first time last month).
Elisabeth, diet is "die" with a "t"! he he More goodies will be posted at some point... reeer!
Jessica, yes double yum. Those things are horrendously addictive!
The original idea was to have meat and 2 veg on one side and pudding ( dessert) on the other side. I think shepperds used to take them for lunch too.
Anuday, yeah that too! I was half-delirious on mouth orgasms when I heard the story so I may have gotten it a bit wrong, LOL!
Damn, I need me a pasty...
