Simplicity, fallen from her tree.
Welcome to "industrial autumn"
Wednesday, October 1, 2008This month will be mostly focused on the passage of time and its ravages, or unfit beauties. Trees turn into flaming beauties before dropping naked in preparation for the onslaught of winter, once magestic buildings lose their shining armour and get discarded by the side of the road like common trash. But. Let's see it through different eyes, shall we?

Last photo for September...
Tuesday, September 30, 2008...I hope you all enjoyed this month's photo theme, please check in again later this week to see what surprises October will bring :-) In closing, a few clever words from Oscar Wilde:
Too much work, and no vacation,
Deserves at least a small libation.
So hail! my friends, and raise your glasses,
Work's the curse of the drinking classes.
Traces, erased
Monday, September 29, 2008I find myself at the extremity of a long beach. How gladly does the spirit leap forth, and suddenly enlarge its sense of being to the full extent of the broad, blue, sunny deep! A greeting and a homage to the Sea! I descend over its margin, and dip my hand into the wave that meets me, and bathe my brow. That far-resounding roar is the Ocean's voice of welcome. His salt breath brings a blessing along with it.
~Nathaniel Hawthorne, "Foot-prints on the Sea-shore"

Unbridled childhood
Saturday, September 27, 2008Memories of pure skies wipe away city blues magically, like the tide gently caressing its rippled sandy shores...

Beachy clouds
Thursday, September 25, 2008This streak of clouds was quite entertaining, since we either had blue skies, grey skies or fog for most of the time.

"Larmes de sirène"
Thursday, September 18, 2008Aka "Siren's tears" or, for the layman... seaglass! For those who beachcomb and collect it, you'll know that blue is one of the very rare colours (white, green and brown being predominant). Finding a chip of blue seaglass is a thrill... finding a giant chunk like this is the experience of a lifetime! It was turned into a pendant, to be worn with pride until one day, it returns to the sea.
Between roo and me
Wednesday, September 17, 2008It's easy to feel like the best parent in the world when you can offer such serenity to your kids... and yes, dogs are people too!
